The commercial will promote the Island and highlights all the great things it has to offer in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Rafa's new tv advert was unveiled to the main broadcasting markets by the President of the Consell de Mallorca, Catalina Cladera on Friday. It's aimed at the Domestic market for now but will eventually be broadcast in International markets.
The project has been developed through the Majorca Tourism Foundation in conjunction with the Palma City Council, Fundació Palma 365.

Sorry to say but it’s not that good. Could be anywhere in the med really. The only Mallorcan identifier is Rafa himself chirping “Welcome to Mallorca” at the end! What a waste. Couldn’t they have had him talking to camera in continuous script with changing locations? Nope. Get a drone, film some nice shots and slap Rafa on at the end. Cheap as chips to make, looks nice because the tech has really improved, but that can never compensate for a limp idea in the first place. Com’on Mallorca tourism bods. This is a very creative place, film and tv production could be a good earner for the island, and not just about locations, there’s talent here too! So stop being so numbingly conservative!
