UK quarantine for travellers returning from Spain

The UK government is to impose a 14-day quarantine on travellers arriving from Spain. The Sunday Times was first to report that the government was on the point of making this snap decision, which has now been confirmed.

UK Governemnt are a joke. No common sense used. Why are the Canary Islands included, when they are absolutely nowhere near the mainland!? The Balaerics are a closer but not exactly touching distance.... Clowns in a circus would do a better job!
