The Guardia Civil are investigating the death of a farmer in Petra, who suffered fatal injuries to his head from a chainsaw.

Calls were made to the emergency services at around five o'clock on Monday afternoon. Medics from the SAMU emergency ambulance service went to the finca but could do no more than certify his death.

A chainsaw was next to his body. The involvement of a third party has been ruled out.
