This is good news indeed. Difficult to believe that Mallorca will have achieved compaeable vaccination numbers before sometime mext year.
I think it is a realistic estimate. The resurgence of Covid 3rd wave in Europe is to much of a risk for travel. The stimulus to U.K. economy is more priority to the government than to start tourism to Europe. There are to many risks and no benefit to open this trade to U.K. plc at this time. U.K. holiday prices are rising and this revenue will stimulate U.K. jobs and growth which is government priority at this time. Hope to visit the island in the island in the autumn as usual, but will wait until situation in Europe settles.
Well the Spanish government have the answer in their own hands. Vaccinate your own citizens and keep people out until you have done so. Then allow only vaccinated and negative test people in and Spain and the Balearics could enjoy a decent tourist season.
