The Calvia council ordered that Palmira beach in Paguera be closed after bathers reported that they had been stung by algae near the coastline.

I was at Sa Calobra beach on Sunday and myself and several others were stung by jellyfish within the space of an hour. Very difficult to see without a snorkel, but they were everywhere. Perhaps not just algae at Palmira.
