Marvin Le MartianLike you , Started with a 944 in gun metal gray, bought of the back of a bonus my reward for a seriously hard year at work in 85.. Driving that had some serious cheek clenching moments . Balance was so good it seemed to pivot just below the drivers seat. You don’t see many about now but always smile if I see one. Also amazing how small they are compared to modern cars. Following year living in Frankfurt driving back from Zurich business meetings on a Sunday! In a lime green company Mercedes , “ no chance anyone nicking that” ..200 kph autobahn toward the airport . Dot in rear mirrors minutes later then a 911 went past as if I was stationary, was that you Marvin . Thought I gotta have one of those . Did for a couple of months. Then return to the U.K. and had to grow up unfortunately. Back to fords and then company sensible barges. Drove one of 911 recent offerings when I retired , very quick , but like most modern cars competent but a bit soulless. Ended up with a daft bmw . The lid comes off , ahh miss spent youth revisited.
Ouch! That'll dent the insurance premiums, but little sympathy, single vehicle accidents are usually self-inflicted, you need to make allowance for rain, speed etc. At least no 3rd parties hurt or worse, so hopefully a lesson learned here.
David HollandNever owned a 911, had a go in one in Germany once though on an autobahn. Wildly fast. Had a 924 for some years. The poor mans porche. Drove great though and no nonsense, except it leaked like a sieve. S
Marvin Le MartianYes those old 911s don’t take prisoners, one mistake or lack of concentration and you we’re looking out the rear window on the way to the accident.
Drunk, stoned, or a shite driver. Possibly all three.
