The councillor for tourism at Sant Llorenç town hall, Colau Bordal, says that work on improving C. Cristòfol Colom in Cala Millor is nearing completion. The commercial centre of the Sant Llorenç part of the resort, it had suffered deterioration over the years. Investment of 3.8 million euros has gone towards its enhancement, which includes sculptures.
A town hall objective has been to create a sustainable resort. In this regard, new lighting technologies have been adopted, while on the beach there are recycling bins and footbaths rather than showers (in order to save water). There are new information panels and there is also a 'beach library'.
Cala Millor comes under two town halls - Son Servera is the other. A tourism consortium with representatives from the two seeks to integrate actions as closely as possible.
