The Palma city council have announced plans to tackle boozy bad behaviour and crime on the beaches of Playa de Palma (Arenal and Can Pastilla) with floodlights. The beaches will be lit up at night in an effort to curb boozy beach parties and crime.

Good work by the Council. Travelling to Mallorca on a $100 flight and then intending to sleep on the beach is not the type of tourist we want on the island. Let's hope the proposed floodlighting deters.
