The president of CAEB Restaurants Association, Alfonso Robledo, says that restaurant owners are concerned by a lack of reservations in tourist areas over Easter. There are also concerns that the weather forecast is leading to hotel cancellations.

ChappyOn a good year, British tourism accounts for about 20%, which according to British tabloids is always an overwhelming majority. The other 80% non-British tourism don't really count. So that's how 20% becomes an overwhelming majority. Also the 90 day rule has nothing to do with tourism over Easter, British or otherwise. Brits tend to be beach resort types. Easter isn't a particularly beachy time to be here. It's mainly non-british visitors who are coming, not for beach time, but for other interests such as golf, cycling et al. So, it's not unusual that restaurants in beach resorts (especially British ones) would be a bit dry for bookings at that time. But it's understandable that this would be the only metric that counts in a British publication.
Every year we hear the same thing, 'hotel bookings down', 'restaurants don't have bookings', 'tourists going to Turkey' And at the end of every year it turns out none of it was true. Just look around and believe the evidence of your own eyes, not the scare stories printed here.

Well having Run and owned Restarants for many years it’s going to be a tough time political and world wide instability as well as high prices across the board will have a heavy impact on the restaurant sector !
Is it any surprise that restaurant bookings are down ? Surely these people must realise the 90 day rule is starting to make a marked difference. Holiday home owners are having to make hard choices when to spend their days in the eu. I think many will wait until the better weather arrives
