The woman accused of murdering her baby in Porto Cristo in November last year has been released on bail of 5,000 euros. A court in Palma ordered her release on Thursday following an appeal by her lawyer. Her passport has been withdrawn, and she will have to present herself to a court every week.

A court in Manacor ordered her and two others to prison on November 6. They had been arrested by the National Police following events of November 2.

Shortly before 6pm on November 2, a witness saw a car pull up by rubbish containers. Something was thrown into a container. The witness's suspicions aroused, she looked into the container and saw a baby.

Subsequent investigations have sought to prove whether the baby was born alive or dead.
