High temperatures are attributed with having caused the deaths of two men in Palma on Thursday.

The first fatality was in the morning. A 60-year-old man who was on a boat in Cala Gamba called the 112 emergency line. When an ambulance and the National Police arrived, he was dead.

Pending an autopsy confirmation, the indications were that his death was related to the high temperatures.

Around 6pm, a 61-year-old man was in his car in the S'Escorxador area when he felt unwell. He called relatives in Sa Pobla but shortly afterwards he stopped answering his phone.
