Spain announces €10.6 billion aid package for flood-hit areas
State help could be extended to other municipalities, as well as those affected in the Balearics

The Spanish government announced today,Thursday, an initial aid package of €10.6 billion for the municipalities affected by the devastating floods that killed at least 219 people in Valencia and other territories. The aid package is aimed at 78 municipalities – 75 in the Valencia region, two in Castile-La Mancha, and one in Andalusia – and could be extended to other municipalities, as well as those affected in the Balearics, Catalonia, and Aragon.
