Spanish banking giant Santander ponders scaling back its operations in Britain
Barclays had made an offer for its British banking business
Spanish banking giant, Banco Santander, is reviewing its presence in Britain, a person familiar with the matter said, two decades after its acquisition of Abbey National made it a major player on the country's high streets. Santander's review is part of a regular assessment of its major businesses, the person said speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

BeachcomberYou mean all the ones who shut branch after branch? Some of the trusted British banks closed accounts from longtime customers due to living abroad.
Won’t be any loss to UK as we have many more trusted British banks that customers have full confidence in.
