Mallorca away in Murcia - UCAM were three points above the visitors before the start of the match - and looking to amends for last weekend's capitulation at home to Tenerife.
A fifteenth-minute corner led to a cross from Culio which found centre-back Raíllo, who headed Mallorca into the lead. Soon after Domínguez went close. Mallorca, without totally dominating, continued to have the better of the first half.
Murcia were more threatening after the break, but Mallorca, through Brandon and Lago, looked just as likely to score despite having less possession. All seemed set up for three valuable away points when Company gave away a debatable penalty for a pull on Natalio with under ten minutes remaining. Jona converted it, and so the single point left Mallorca where they had been before the kick-off - in twentieth spot and very much in a relegation scrap.
