Away to Valencia Mestalla, the Valencia B side, in seventh place before the start of the match, Mallorca were looking for an improvement after two successive draws. It didn't come in the first half. Reina saved from Navarro after six minutes, and then a foul by Sastre on 16 minutes - a clear penalty for a push - gave Sánchez the chance to open the scoring. Which he did. Immediately afterwards, Lago had a couple of opportunities, and following what seemed a justified claim for handball in the box by a Valencia defender, Villalba made it two for the home side on 25 minutes.

Ten minutes into the second period, a fine centre from Bonilla gave Lago a further chance as Mallorca showed a distinct improvement. But it was Valencia who went closest when Blanco's header rattled the bar, before Salva Sevilla fired home a fine free-kick with fifteen minutes left. Lago was put in by Abdon for the chance to equalise. It wasn't to be, and nor was a claim for a penalty when Abdon went down two minutes before the end.

Mallorca remained seven points ahead at the top of Segunda B Grupo 3, with third and second-placed Elche and Villarreal B meeting later.
