Bridget Bazie and the New Orleans Gospel Choir conclude the Jazz Voyeur Festival | Manuel Diaz de Rada
Bridget Bazile is a graduate of both the universities of New Orleans and Oklahoma who was a finalist for the Metropolitan Opera National Council in 1999.
Her operatic roles have included works by Gershwin, Mozart, Puccini and Verdi, and she has been principal soloist at the Carnegie Hall in New York.
Her Louisiana background does perhaps help to explain why her versatility isn’t confined to opera. In 2021, she was nominated for a Grammy for Best Gospel Performance Song with ‘We Need a Word from the Lord’. She is therefore one of the world’s leading classical gospel singers, and with The New Orleans Gospel Choir and Mallorca’s Ànima Gospel she will be performing the final concert for this year’s Jazz Voyeur Festival.
