Stacey Kent’s awards include the BBC Jazz Awards for best vocalist and best album.
She has been honoured with France’s Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and has had albums that have reached gold and platinum status.
Now 58, her first album release was in 1996. There have been fifteen albums in all, and along the way she has teamed up with author Sir Kazuo Ishiguro, who co-wrote four songs for her 2007 release Breakfast on the Morning Tram. They came to meet after he chose one of her songs for his Desert Island Discs selection in 2002.
Earlier this year, she won the Ella Fitzgerald Prize at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, a mark of her standing on the global scene as one of the finest jazz singers of the past twenty to thirty years.
She will be in Palma for the second concert of the 2023 Jazz Voyeur Festival.
