The climax to the Sant Jaume fiestas, with correfocs in Binissalem and Manacor, the cossier dancers in Algaida, and fireworks in Alcudia and elsewhere. Pollensa's La Patrona starts, the procession of the "triumphal carriage" of La Beata in Valldemossa is on Saturday. Other fiestas include Cala Millor, Inca and Playa de Muro (fireworks on Sunday night). S'Arraco's always popular Nit de l'Art is on Thursday.

Fiestas all over the island. Virgen del Carmen concludes on Monday except in Porto Cristo, where the fiestas go on until Sunday (correfoc and fireworks). Sant Jaume in Alcudia, Manacor, Santanyi and elsewhere (demons in Calvia village on Saturday). Santa Margalida in various places. La Beata starts in Valldemossa and Vilafranca. In Port Adriano, tenor José Carreras on Saturday. Santa Eugenia has its performing arts weekend - circus acts, dance and music.

The fairs now start to come thick and fast. Alcudia's is always extremely popular, with a highlight being the dances and procession of the bigheads S'Estol Rei en Jaume; Llucmajor starts its series of four fairs with the first for Sant Miquel, which features the dances of the cavallet cotoners; Alaro's on Sunday will have the "somera" donkey and its dance. And Esporles has its fair, which is devoted to sweets and pastries. The Capella Mallorquina choir celebrates fifty years with a free concert at Palma Cathedral, and Syrian pianist Aeham Ahmad performs at the Teatre Principal in Palma.
