Finbar SaundersSo, you think an advert by United Airlines for a direct flight from New York has equal or more visibility and generates more interest in Mallorca than posts on social media by Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta Jones, Nicole Kidman, Zoe Soldana, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Annie Lennox, Morgan Freeman, many other popular Hollywood figures...and a full deck of other well known actors, music figures, sports legends... Maybe you're right. I mean, who follows celebrities on social media?
Morgan Williams the big know it all. I was in San Fran in May, Mallorca was on the front page of the United Airlines magazine and there was a 6 page spread on Mallorca inside. This mag was in every airport in the US. Everyone I spoke to in the lounge was interested in Mallorca.
Oh please! Whoever wrote this obviously has not traveled outside of Mallorca. Spain and other parts of the Med have much nicer beaches without the extreme, absurd over crowding. Go to Rodas Beach in Galicia, THAT is gorgeous.
We've been iver this before, but I'll go ahead and reiterate just for the fun of it. 1. There are more than 1000 other routes to Mallorca from America than one flight from New York. The one flight from New York has received some minor media attention, particularly here. But not over there. It's not really much of a news story over there. 2. Americans have become aware of Mallorca and have piqued interest, largely due to the many celebrities visiting, owning property, or outright living here.... who post their experiences on social media, read by millions of Americans, daily. There's also the Hollywood movies filmed here. And a few popular documentaries. Which of the above do you reckon gets more exposure in North America? And lastly, Torrente de Pareis is rather cool indeed, but the attraction isn't that it's such a great beach. It's just something unique. And there's a few scenes in major movies shot there.
