VIVA España! It is quite incredible just how popular Spain is with the British. I would just like to remind all those moving to the sun that one thing is being on holiday in a country and the other is living there. It is important to learn the language. As one British ambassador to Spain once said it is not vital but it does improve your enjoyment of the country. It is also important to remember that Spain has different laws and regulations to Britain and that the sun doesn't always shine. But taking all the above into account I can well understand why so many Britons are making their home in Spain. It is a great place with a great climate and a friendly people. Even Tony Blair has a very good Spanish friend! And as I said at the start of this column...Viva España.
