I have just read the appeal for the Centro Canino International in today's Daily Bulletin and like many other people on this Island of Majorca I am saddened by its imminent doom.
On turning the page in the paper I was almost amused to see a letter published about a certain cattery in Surrey where lots of moggies and precious pusscats are being lavished with gifts and even post cards while their owners are vacationing secure in the knowledge that their pets are being well cared for.
The last lines of that letter put everything into perspective: I suppose it underlines what a nation of softies we are when in it comes to our pets!
We have hundreds of people who spend time and money feeding stray cats in every corner of this Island proving there are hundreds of animal softies here in Majorca.
There must also be lots of ideal unused ground. So, where is the animal lovers' spirit?
Get cracking everyone and help to find a new home for the Centro Canino and the innocent animals that rely on them.
