Lack of info in Palma

MY wife and I returned from a two week holiday in Palma last Tuesday. We had a very good holiday and hope to return again when we can afford to do so. We spent a great deal of our time travelling by bus and train all over the island. We found it very convenient and cheap to do this. This was very fortunate as the weather was, especially during the first week not exactly ideal! As it happened out first day was Balearic day and we decided to walk from out hotel towards the Cathedral. We were amazed when we came across the street entertainment which was absolutely amazing. The following day we visited the Anglican church and as a result attended a marvellous concert the following Friday in the church hall. The point I am making is that it was only by chance that we got to know of these events. I wonder why the Tourist Information Department doesn't compile and circulate details of events such as these so that hotels can display them on their notice boards? In our hotel although there was television in the rooms there were no British television stations available. Surely if visitors are to be encouraged during the winter months these should be made available. Although we don't want to be confined to our rooms it would be nice to have this facility available. I wonder why the British are ignored when most other European language stations are available. Perhaps the hotels don't really want visitors from the UK? One final point. Trying to find places in Palma City is very difficult for visitors. I wonder why the Es Baluard Art Museum and Diocesan Museum for example are not clearly sign posted for the foot traveller? It was most annoying having spent a considerable time trying to find the Diocesan Museum to find building work taking place and it was closed but no signs warning of this. We would like to return but please if you want us try and help us.
