For Michael Gove, Britain's education secretary, for criticising the dominance in British public life of people educated at independent schools. Mr Gove pointed to both Conservative and Labour parties as disproportionately representing private education and said that in Britain “those who are born poor are more likely to remain poor than in any comparable country” and that, as a result, those from poorer backgrounds are not achieving their potential, with a resultant loss to the country's economic efficiency. “Morally indefensible”, he said.
