Whilst accepting that the present administration inherited from the previous (Antich) administration a health service debt of 500 million euros - 250 million of which was for altering the plans of Son Espases hospital, and that cuts/savings have to be made, Señora Castro (the current Health Minister) in Palma and whoever was involved at local level in Calvia, obviously didn't do any market research or local consultation.

It is also no way for those involved to be informed by the nursing association and local press.
The Bendinat Centre is not easily accessible by public transport.
Also, will the present medical team from Portals (Doctors Usoz and Andreas) both of whom provide an unrivalled service - be transferring with their patients?

If not, why not - what does it say re: patient confidence and continuity of care?
Whoever made the decision re: the closure would do well to remember that come the next election, 3'500 votes could well be going elsewhere.
