Collecting a Nobel Peace Prize awarded in 1991, receiving an honorary degree from the University of Oxford, addressing a joint gathering of the Houses of Lords and Commons, meeting members of the Royal family and MPs as well as members of the Burmese community in Britain -- Aung San Suu Kyi's programme over the past few days would have tested someone half her age but she carried it through with charm, elegance and sincerity. She is indeed a remarkable woman who gives hope to all who are oppressed as she has been. The Nobel Prize citation referred to her as an example of the power of the powerless.
