The police made a brave and bold move by arresting PR guru Max Clifford on alleged sex offences on Thursday.
Love him or hate him, Clifford has been the heart beat of much of the British print media for the past 30 odd years and is obviously no fool.
One wonders if the police are trying to curry favour with the general public after it was revealed that allegations made against the likes of Jimmy Savile in the 70's were apparently ignored by a number of police forced and certain insiders within the BBC itself.

The word “witch hunt” was mentioned over and over again yesterday but if so, who is behind it.
Many of these alleged accusations apparently happened decades ago and the man at the heart of this police investigation is dead.
Where the police are going to go from here, I do not know, but I think that they have taken a huge gamble by feeling Clifford's collar.
If the police are following the correct course then why are they only arresting and questioning famous people, unknown members of the public must surely have been either involved in or in the know of a sexual abuse scandal on this scale.

One thing is for sure, shaking up the board at the top of the BBC has not and will not make any difference, all this could come back to haunt the Beeb and the police in the long run.
