......For Amazon, Google and Starbucks, just three well-known international companies which have been found to be evading taxes on their operations in Britain. Parliament's Public Accounts Committee, chaired by the formidable Margaret Hodge, described them as “unacceptable “ and “immoral” for devising schemes by which they would avoid a full accounting of their tax responsibilities. Press publicity and public reaction has led Starbucks to run advertisements saying they are now paying up in full. But how many more evaders of this kind are there?
