l IS the King´s son.-in-law Iñaki Urdangarin who is facing charges that he embezzled more than six million euros of public funds through his Noos sporting found-ation alongside his business partner Diego Torres. Although he has denied any wrong-doing the Palma city council has still appealed to him not to use his official title of the Duke of Palma. The council can´t strip him of his title because it was bestowed on him by the King but it can ask him not to use it. Urdangarin appeared in court in Palma last Saturday and there have been calls for his wife, the Infanta Cristina (the King´s youngest daughter) to be also questioned in connection with the case. Urdangarin has become one of the most unpopular people in Spain as support for the monarchy has dropped in recent opinion polls.
