...for International Women's Day which celebrated its centenary in the past week with special events around the world, some of which will continue for several weeks. Britain has led with more than 400 events -- almost twice as many as in any other country, including the United States. Of special significance this year has been the emergence of women demonstrators and protestors in the Middle East, insisting that they should have an equal place with men in shaping the reforms of the Arab Spring.
