I have read with interest the many articles and letters regarding the imposition of the new car rental tax.
I have a simple solution to this which would enable the Government to apply this Tax and for the car rental customers to notice no difference whatsoever in the price.
How about it if the car rental companies were to stop applying their scandalous and ridiculous fuel policy whereby one is charged for a full tank of fuel like it or not and at extortionate rates.
This is a huge money making exercise for the Rental Companies and I see no reason why they are unable to subsidise the extra tax charge when it comes to the customers bills on the back of it! I have lost track of the number of times I have heard irate customers arguing at the rental desk about the fuel policy!
