ONLY recently we saw Spain's third largest tour firm go under and with it some 500 travel agents.
Now there are only three main chains of travel agents on the high street in Spain and from my experience recently, they are enjoying having a near monopoly. I wanted to grab a quick ski but after all of the travel agents telling me they had nothing for the week after Easter I went on line and found an amazing deal in Andorra. Two days a go I called the hotel to books the lift passes only to be told that the hotel closes on the day I was due to have arrived. Now, I had to try and get my money back on three fronts, the airline, the booking website, which said the deal was nor refundable, and my transfer from Barcelona airport to the resort.

Fortunately, the hotel assumed responsibility and I got my money back and there was no problem with the coach transfer, now I am left with the airline. A good travel agent would have made it all so easy!
