...for the British government's persistence in stripping down the Equality and Human Rights Commission. The Home Office has issued a consultation paper on its future with a three months deadline. Some recent successful legal actions by the Commission have annoyed the Tory right and major surgery is in prospect. The Commissions' work is complex and sometimes controversial but its viability as a voice for people who need help but lack the ability to fight for it themselves should not be overlooked.
