Who does Pedro Iriondo think he is?
I could not believe the ignorant comments made by Pedro Iriondo. Who does this guy think he is? He is quite insulting to the people who use the cheaper airlines and dismisses them as rubbish. He also assumes that they use unregulated accommodation.
They may or may not do this, and even if they do, they are spending their money on the island. Eating out in restaurants, hiring cars, using taxis and spending money at markets and supermarkets.
Many are people who have invested significant amounts of their money to buy second homes and are not a drain on the Spanish society. So he should get off of his high horse and be totally realistic he obviously does not understand the travel industry and what is good for Majorca.
In the winter months the only way to travel to Majorca is to use these airlines, in fact a good proportion of people using them are Spanish.
So he has the idea that Quality tourists must be the only ones to stay on the island, if this is the case many of the facilities will have to be upgraded.
