Dear Sir, MY wife and I first visited the beautiful Soller valley in 1998 and it was love at first sight! Since then we have visited at least four times each year. When we first rode the tram we paid 100 pesetas per trip. When the euro arrived the cost was 0.75 of a euro and when the price rose to one euro we still thought it was a reasonable price. Last year the price doubled to two euros but it was possible to buy books of tickets at 10 euros for 20 tickets and we were pleased to assume that the company was rewarding people such as ourselves who visit the valley often. How wrong could we have been! This year the price has gone to three euros and no FOREIGNERS can buy books of tickets unless you are a nominal resident. People from Soller visiting our seaside town of Southport will ride on our transport at the same price as us. What on earth are we doing when we pay into into the great family of Europe and find that they have a totally different view of us.
