By Jason Moore I think next time the English dictionary is updated the word prestige should be removed, it is no longer needed in Britain any longer. I have come to this amazing conclusion after reading about the outcry over Prime Minister Tony Blair running-up a bill of just over one million pounds on using one of the RAF's VIP jets during his years in office. What a scandal. Obviously the Prime Minister should be travelling economy class when he arrives for some European summit; perhaps he should book online three months in advance. Also, when he takes the family on holiday perhaps he should consider third class on a steamer from Tilbury, after all he is only the Prime Minister! The Spanish Prime Minister and the royal family travel everywhere aboard Air Force planes, it is not a problem. These same moaners were probably responsible for the scrapping of the royal yacht Britannia one of the most stupid and scandalous decisions ever made. The royal yacht was a symbol of Britain's long maritime history and also something to be proud of. While we all want value for money there is a certain little thing called prestige. On the same day as all the moans and groans about Blair's travel expenses there was a report that a footballer had lost 40'000 pounds on a flick of a card. I think someone is rather missing the point, don't you think!
