By Jason Moore THOUSANDS of people returned to work yesterday across the Balearics after the long Easter break. The usual question; what did you do over Easter? Most replied that they had been to the West End. Now, I know that there is a West Dock in Palma (the Dique del Oeste) but the West End, this was a new one for me but after all Majorca is constantly changing and new places springing up. “So was it good,” I asked, “oh fantastic, amazing sights, relatively cheap and great shopping,” they answered. “Oh, and the weather?”, “A bit cloudy but overall, quite nice.” By this stage I was seriously puzzled. “So this West End, is it quite close?” “About two hours away...” “Oh, and the beaches, were they nice,” I asked, “don´t be stupid, there aren´t any nice beaches there but there is a giant Ferris wheel where you can see all the sights?” “Ah, you mean the Feria del Ram, the Easter fair. So this new West End is near to the industrial estate, sounds nice... ?“No, the London eye, you bloody idiot, we went to London for Easter because it is cheap for us with the euro. It is amazing how far our euros go in Britain and we appeared to be getting value for money.” That is what they used to say about Majorca, isn´t it....?
