...for a Tottenham-born singer called Adele who some of us may not have heard but whose latest album, 21, has topped the UK charts for three months, breaking Madonna's record for a female perfomer of 21 years ago. Adele has two singles and two albums in the UK top five, something not achieved since the distant days of The Beatles. And more, Adele's UK success is repeated in charts world-wide. And to top all this, she was the subject of an approving leading article in yesterday's Times. Beat that!
