ONE of Britain´s major tour firms has unveiled plans to go completely all inclusive next year which has obviously caused quite a sensation. But is anyone really surprised because afterall, probably the biggest concern of most holidaymakers are the prices in resorts?

If you are on an all-inclusive holiday you know exactly what you are going to pay and therefore you can budget accordingly. All inclusive holidays are not going to go away and infact perhaps more tour firms are going to go down the all inclusive route. So perhaps the best way forward is for bars and restaurants and even night-spots to try and join the all-inclusive club because otherwise they risk falling revenue and profits. In some ways I feel rather sorry for businesses in resorts.

They have been forced to keep their prices low in an effort to try and attract punters. In most cases it is far cheaper to eat out in a tourist resort than it is in Palma. But for some tourists it is still too expensive and they just want to reduce their holiday costs by as much as possible. In the Balearics, all inclusive holidays, have become a bad word. But this shouldn´t be the case, in many Majorcan resorts this type of holiday is going to be the future. So the industry needs to adapt and try and make the most of them.
