Dear Sir,
I HAVE to agree with both of your contributers to the Letters to the Editor section of the Daily Bulletin of Saturday, 22nd April.

PEOPLE BEFORE POLITICS
Firstly, George Giri who points out that councillors are accountable to their constituents before their parties; specifically that the UM (Union Majorca party) have pursued the ridiculous case against Joan Tomas of Calvia for putting people before politics.
TOURIST “TRAINING” Secondly, Ian Morrison's comment about trying to “educate” tourists with regard to local language and custom.
BOTH, although seemingly different, are, in my opinion, motivated by the same indigenous trait which boils down to a complete lack of empathy (which, according to my dictionary is: The capacity for participation in another's feelings or ideas) with the very people that give them their livelihood.
I would suggest that those involved in politics and tourism tune to “receive” before hitting the “transmit” button! John Rule, Sol de Majorca
