...for those English footballers who appear not to know the words of the National Anthem when it is played before the start of an international game.
Or is it that they sort-of know the words but feel no particular attachment to the country they are supposed to be representing and therefore choose not to sing it? It does not matter whether they sing in tune or not, but non-participation leaves a very poor impression and raises the question of whether representing their country matters very much to them.
