IF Real Mallorca is so important to Majorca why is it that not a single Majorcan firm or businessperson has thrown his or her hat into the ring to buy the club? This is the question which has to be asked. Mallorcan fans are going to have to accept the fact that their club will be owned by a foreigner. British businessman Paul Davidson appears to be on course to be the new owner of the club. His offer just has to be rubber stamped by a Palma judge; the only danger for Davidson is that the judge is acting in the interests of owner and President Vicente Grande´s creditors and therefore he will accept the highest offer for the club. Davidson has made a generous offer which he says will be difficult to beat. However, while the club will be foreign owned Grande is expected to remain as President and there is some speculation that other Majorcans will be brought in to join the board. In the meantime the manager and the players must concentrate on their side of the business and win matches. What is happening in the boardroom is not really their concern at the moment. The manager must ensure that Mallorca win this weekend and all will be rosy in the garden. The last thing that the new owner wants is to buy a club which is struggling in the league.
