AIRLINES are now planning to introduce saddle seats to make air travel even more uncomfortable. As far as I am concerned this is the final straw! Bring back the days when you got a pre-selected seat, a nice drink and even a tasty meal all for the price of the fare.
I used to enjoy flying back to Britain but these days it's just stressful and rather dull. It wasn´t long ago that you would arrive at Palma airport be checked in and your holiday started there. These days it starts when you leave the airport in Britain. I don´t understand why airlines have given up offering the services of old because fares are still expensive.
On some airlines you are treated like cattle and ordered about. I am sure this is one of the reasons why more people are holidaying in Britain because the fun has been taken out of flying. The other day I was talking to a local businessman and he maintains that one of the biggest blows to Majorca of recent years was when British Midland decided to scrap their daily flight from Heathrow. He is probably right and I would urge the local authorities to intervene and try to get an airline to reintroduce this service. But I would also add that it should be an airline that treats passengers like clients and not cattle.
