But subdued, for Bob and Sally Dowler, parents of the murdered Millie Dowler, and Gerry and Kate McCann, parents of the missing Madeleine, who found the necessary strength and composure to give evidence to the government-appointed Leveson Inquiry into the ethics of the British press. The two families told of the incredibly insensitive treatment they experienced at the hands of newspapers when they were at their lowest ebb of loss. Their testimonies were very different from those of personalities complaining about invasion of their privacy.
