Dear Sir,
The tourists who come to Majorca and stay at an all inclusive hotel do so because that is all they can afford, or is that not logical? Most of these tourists are young families with children who cannot afford to be going to restaurants for every meal.
If the all inclusive hotels are full, it is because there is a strong market for this kind of tourism; should Majorca prohibit this kind of tourism and demand that only tourists with “real money” be allowed to visit?
As for Winter tourism, the only solution is to finish the convention center, which will surely bring an enormous amount of Winter business for bars and restaurants.
There is not much going on in Majorca for a Winter break anyway; people who want great shopping, restaurants and charming hotels will go to Madrid or Barcelona before they come here. OR, those with “real money” will go to the Caribbean for the sun. Every time I go to Palma, I see all the cafes packed with tourists, everywhere, so why all the moaning about the lack of tourists?
