On The Beach has said that the number of bookings it has received for summer trips to those destinations is more than double the level from 2019, before the pandemic.
It claims this is due to the fall in the value of the Turkish lira and Egyptian pound against sterling over that period.
The number of lira that can be bought for a UK pound has quadrupled from around eight in 2019 to 34 currently. Holidaymakers visiting Egypt are receiving approximately twice as much local currency for sterling than they were before the virus crisis.
There are an additional 1.2 million seats on flights from the UK to Turkey this year compared with in 2019, according to the tour operator. Annual flight capacity is expected to grow by another 1.6 million seats by 2025, reaching a total of five million.
Heathrow Airport announced on Friday that July was its busiest ever month for departures to Turkey, with more than 73,000 people flying to the country.
Airline Jet2.com recently revealed its flying programme to Turkey is three times larger than in 2018.
On the Beach chief customer officer Zoe Harris said: “The top location for holidaymakers this holiday season is the Canaries, followed closely by mainland Spain.
“Spain had a slight decline in bookings last year, however this year it’s back with a notable increase in bookings compared to 2019.
“The destinations to watch out for are Turkey and Egypt.
“They are rising the ranks at a rapid rate of knots.
“We expect to see these two destinations to continue to rise and challenge for the Canaries top spot next year.”

Andy WalkerThe defence rests, your honour.
Says Morgan Williams whose multiple arrogant posts deride Brits everytime. However, as a low rent Welshman he sits pretty much at the bottom of the foodchain compared to most other Brits.
The implication is that it's all about Brits. And being that Brits are the only tourist on the planet worth having, when they leave for something cheaper, it will impoverish Mallorca or anywhere else where Brits aren't regarded as the most important tourist and offered cheap as chips hols. But what conveniently isn't considered is that British tourism accounts for only small fraction of tourism here or anywhere else (although when compared to say, Luxembourg, it's many times greater, so that's a way to claim "victory" in this one sided competition). Yet even if in the all-but-impossible event that every British tourist suddenly chose a cheaper elsewhere, it wouldn't be all that perceptible, and frankly, tourism from other nationalities is far larger and steadily growing anyway. And trending toward higher quality rather than the cheapest quantity. It again suggests it's just more wishful thinking clickbait headlining which helps British readers feel important, and that spin is increasingly seen in lots of British media, especially now as Britain continues its descent into irrelevance. But to the outside observer, it just appears rather desperate. And that appearance doesn't encourage much motivation to treat Brits exceptionally. And that only makes Brits presume they're "unwanted". But that's not the case, it's just that Brits aren't as important as they think they should be. Yet a little humility would help change that.
Mikey, the only idiot around here is you. You don't seem very bright as evidenced by your almost incomprehensible post.
Meanwhile, Andrew Ede's headline above reads: "Airport figures suggest that the Balearics are still on course for a record tourism year"
Yet again at the MDB, the headline is totally wrong and contradicts the copy that follows. Essentially Spain is doing great this year and Turkey and Egypt are doing well and are destinations to watch out for next year. Why the MDB persists in their ceaseless negative narrative ( especially the headline) at any half opportunity is totally mystifying.
Mallorca is full, we are having the best season ever. I work with the hotels and they are smashing all occupancy records, I've got overbookings everywhere. My wife's bar is full every night, not seen it like this since 2003. It's good that Turkey is doing well, but it's not at our expense.
You think you are important in Mallorca with your comments I’ve been here best part of 20 years it’s no wonder people think your idiots with your snide comments your not doing the island any favours your just a bunch of idiots with nothing else in your sad life
EU country is more expensive than two poor developing countries shock horror! Why not compare Spain to France or Italy which would be a fair comparison. But it wouldn't make a negative headline so it won't happen.
Well you certainly couldn't stuff much more into that guys belly!
