Thousands of Britons are still dreaming of a Mallorcan holiday, but what a nightmare | J. FURONES

The British travel industry and airlines have had their say, they had tried to pile the pressure on the government to stop fiddling about with travel restrictions but they do not appear to have got as far as they would have liked. OK, the UK is now open for double vaccinated businesses, but what about outbound travel?

If I lived in the uk I'd rent a boat on the Norfolk broads and chill out, it'll probably be the best holiday of your life. I wish I was there now, don't put too much value on the sun. People don't realize what a great holiday you can have in the uk.......until they've tried it.
I think once you have had two vaccinations then that should be enough. Certainly for the USA and Europe. What is the point of the vaccination otherwise? I can not understand why we have not got together and said this. We need the economy to get back to 'earning' for us all.
Wholeheartedly agree with John, even those of us with properties in Majorca decided months ago to happily stay at home and holiday in the UK. The EU and Majorca government failed miserably getting vaccination levels up to those of the UK. Also with so few tourists this year the Majorca government an set to work getting rid of all the graffiti, absolutely appalling.
I don't believe there is pent up demand at all. From green list to amber list, the only difference is paying for a few extra tests. If people wanted their holiday so badly, they would book. The government and media this year have contributed equally in putting people off traveling for life! Most people need time to plan, budget and book their Holiday each year. They don't just book a family holiday last minute. This is why the majority have decided months ago and booked this year in the UK,most places now are already full. This summer season now is practically over, and if you believe there's going to be huge numbers coming to Mallorca, you are most certainly going to be disappointed.
How can Brits come, no matter how much they'd like to, having a Government that can't even agree amongst itself ?
