Mallorca is no longer a cheap holiday destination, I have even been informed by travel industry insiders that it does not even offer value for money any more compared to other emerging destinations where Mallorcan hoteliers are busy investing in new spectacular holiday complexes.

If a few thousand alcohol fuelled Magaluf gammons are priced out of the market there won't be too many tears shed.
Same as last year. And the year before. And before that. I heard turkey is cheap (according to MDB). I reckon as many as 10% of Brits might choose that instead, since Britain has some rather chronic economic issues. Yet I suspect the other 80% of Mallorca tourists aren't likely to vanish anytime soon. They seek quality rather than quantity. And even more foreigners are waking up to that now. Look around you. But you can continue to hope for it to come crashing in. One of these years, you might be right. But I think we can feel safe that it it won't be because of a handful of Brits going to turkey.
