The past three summers in the centre of Palma have been relatively quiet, as one would expect in the peak of the summer when most residents flee the city and head to their holiday homes or yachts, but the rumble in the jungle is back - the wheeled suitcase brigade looking for their holiday rentals at all times of the day and night and it’s driving me nuts.
The rumble in the jungle in Mallorca
It’s all very well pointing the fingers at holiday lets, legal or not, but someone has opened the floodgates again

Bryan AdamsUsing that same logic, I reckon it would be equally stupid to refer to certain plants as "tropical". Or have "tropical" drinks. Or wear "tropical" shirts. We are at 39 north, after all - and such terminology should be forbidden - it's an insult to the tropics (even if it isn't getting below 22 at night here, you know, like in the tropics).
'Tropical nights' is a ridiculous term. Palma is 39 degrees north, the The Tropic of Cancer lies at 23d 26' 22" (23.4394 degrees) north of the Equator and marks the most northerly latitude at which the sun can appear directly overhead at noon.
A bit stupid, what are elderly/disabled etc people supposed to do? The question should be; Seeing as holiday lets are banned in Palma why are these people here in the first place!
