Is 2025 going to be another record year for tourism in Mallorca? Not as far as the anti-mass tourism movement is concerned, and attempts to address the problem appear to have come off the rails before they got rolling in any sensible direction.

However, how the tourist season pans out will be very much influenced by external factors. In the UK, for example, Sunshine Saturday is looming this month which will see the first surge in holiday sales, but where will the UK be travelling this year?

Demand for longer holidays and shorter weekend breaks abroad is set to drive growth in the UK outbound market next year, according to new research, which bodes well for Mallorca. That said, all of the main tour operators have expanded their holiday footprints. They’ve all been busy pushing Greece and Turkey, for example. Now it’s Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt, with Spanish hotel chains busy building new hotels in all of these destinations, not to mention investing in likes of the ‘Albania Riviera’, as TUI UK is selling it.

For many these are new, exciting, exotic and adventurous destinations which also offer great weather, some pretty much all year, and they are cheaper. Plus, the flight times are not much longer.
Fasten your seat belts.
