Racing starts in the 20th Copa del Rey de Vela regatta at the Real Club Nautico in Palma this morning with all the crews convinced that CAM is the yacht to beat. CAM which has Prince Felipe of Spain at the helm, won the Breitling regatta in Puerto Portals ten days ago and this year has now won four major sailing trophies, including the World IMS Cup. Fernando León and Kiko Sánchez will be leading the CAM crew and according to the President of the Balearic Sailing Federation, Francisco Villalonga, “at the moment, the CAM crew is unstoppable and clear favourites to win” the Copa del Rey this year. “CAM is sailing perfectly and is making the utmost of every opportunity to take advantage of its competitors,” Villalonga said. He added that this year's fleet competing for the trophy, includes “some of the best yachts and crews in the world and is one of the toughest fleets to have gathered in Palma for a number of years.”
